In our lab we have a range of microscopy equipment to support our experimental research. The systems are built on high-sensitivity inverted widefield microscopes for fluorescence intensity and lifetime imaging (FLIM), total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRF) and confocal fluorescence lifetime as well as (cross)correlation spectroscopy (F(C)CS). For super-resolution experiments we have stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscope and photoactivated localization microscopy (PALM) is currently in development.
Complementing the microscopes, we have two cell culture rooms equipped with sterile laminar-flow cabinets, incubators, autoclave, fridge and freezer to do essential cell culture work on site. All microscopes are equipped with a CO2 and temperature controlled incubators and a shared 4 channel microfluidic flow control system (Elvesys).
In addition to the microscopes we also have three luminescence plate readers for detection of light absorption, (time gated) luminescence, fluorescence intensity and anisotropy. One of luminescence plate readers is also combined with an imaging cytometer.
For data handling all instruments are connected to a secure central repository, OMERO server.
